About Our Founder
A Son of Zimbabwe. A Builder of Futures.
Godfrey Chinomona · MBA · MMIS · PMP · CISSP
Founder, iCare Plus | Technology Executive | Nonprofit Leader
A Life Built on Responsibility
Godfrey Chinomona is the Founder of iCare Plus and the President of Acextic Corporation, an IT consulting company he has led for more than two decades. He is a technology executive, entrepreneur, and nonprofit leader whose journey reflects discipline, sacrifice, global experience, and a long-standing commitment to opening doors for others.
After high school in Zimbabwe, he stepped directly into responsibility — working to support his mother and siblings while continuing his education. That season did not delay his future; it forged his character.
"His story did not begin with comfort. It began with responsibility."
A Career Built Through Work and Study
Godfrey began his professional career at Old Mutual Zimbabwe, rising from Trainee Programmer to Senior Analyst and Section Manager, while earning a Higher National Diploma in Management Information Systems from Harare Polytechnic. He later spent 10 years with the Botswana Government Computer Bureau, contributing to enterprise systems within a national government environment.
After moving to the United States in 2000, he continued working and studying — earning an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Chicago while working full time. He also holds a Masters in Management Information Systems (MMIS), CIMA, and a Higher National Diploma in Data Processing Management (IMIS UK), alongside certifications including PMP, CISSP, Oracle Certified Expert, and Salesforce.
Over a 25+ year consulting career, he has delivered across insurance, telecommunications, government, manufacturing, engineering, and nonprofit sectors — serving AT&T, Motorola, ADP, Masco, and Charter Manufacturing.
"He built his career the same way he built his life: working, studying, and refusing to stop."
A Mission That Predates the Organisation
Long before iCare Plus was formally established in 2020, Godfrey was already investing his own resources into people and communities — supporting students through school fees from primary to university level, funding university sponsorships, providing computers, tablets, books, and sports equipment, and drilling boreholes. That support has reached communities in Zimbabwe, DRC, and Tanzania.
This is what makes iCare Plus credible: the mission did not begin with incorporation papers. It began with consistent action.
"iCare Plus was not created to start the mission. It was created to scale it."
Governance, Stewardship, and Credibility
Godfrey served for more than 10 years as Chairman of the Board of the United African Organization in Chicago, providing strategic oversight to a nonprofit serving African immigrants and refugees. He also serves as a Board Member of Men of Faith Network.
Strong missions require strong stewardship. Godfrey brings not only compassion, but also the governance discipline, accountability mindset, and execution experience needed to build donor trust and lead sustainable impact.
The Vision Ahead
Today, Godfrey leads iCare Plus with a bold and strategic vision for community transformation — one that goes beyond short-term aid and focuses on education, digital access, entrepreneurship, and sustainable infrastructure.
That vision is embodied in the Mutondo Smart Community Center, a nonprofit-led social enterprise designed to combine skills training, technology access, enterprise development, and community infrastructure in rural Zimbabwe. Mutondo is intended to be more than a project. It is designed to be a replicable model for long-term rural transformation.
"The goal is not charity alone. The goal is to build systems that create opportunity for generations."
Why His Leadership Matters
Godfrey Chinomona brings together a rare combination of lived sacrifice, executive experience, nonprofit governance, and proven personal generosity. He understands both the pain of limited opportunity and the power of strategic investment in people.
His life reflects the values that define iCare Plus: service, stewardship, discipline, vision, and a deep commitment to human dignity.
01
Community First, Always
No programme is designed without community voice. No infrastructure is built without local leadership. We serve, we don't decide.
02
Commerce Sustains Community
Charity alone cannot build lasting change. Every iCare Plus infrastructure project is designed to generate its own operating income permanently.
03
Accountability is Non-Negotiable
We publish our numbers. We report to our funders. We answer to the communities we serve first, and to our board second.
04
Develop Leaders to Replace Us
The goal of every programme is to make iCare Plus unnecessary in that community. Dependence is not success. Self-sufficiency is.
